A message from our Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome back to the start of Term 4.
Since returning we have implemented the return to a single timetable across the school for all year levels. We have seen some real positive outcomes already as a result of this alteration, which has been fantastic. I must commend our students and staff on their ability to adapt to the changes. Well done to all.
Hats
Just a reminder also that with the recommencement of Term 4, all students are expected to be adhering to the school’s sun smart policy which requires students to be wearing a broad brimmed hat when outdoors. If your child does not have a hat which meets this requirement, we would greatly appreciate your support in rectifying this situation.
WVPS Art Show
Next Thursday 24th October, we have our WVPS Art Show taking place. I am really looking forward to seeing our families taking in some of the fantastic artwork on display which has been created by our wonderful students. The event runs between 3:10pm and 6pm with a variety of food options available to be purchased. Just a reminder that as this event is coordinated outside of school hours, students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in attendance.
Upcoming Curriculum Day and Melbourne Cup Public Holiday
A reminder that Monday 4th November is a Curriculum Day across the school with students not required to attend and as such alterative arrangements for care will need to be made by families. Please be aware Team Kids will be operating on this day, should you require care through them please contact Team Kids.
This day is followed on Tuesday 5th by the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday and again, students are not required to attend on this day and again alternative arrangements for care will be required.
School Saving Bonus:
In order to receive the important information allowing yourself to access the $400 school saving bonus in Term 4, it is vitally important to ensure the following is completed by Friday 18th October:
Complete enrolment
If your child, or children are changing government school for Term 1 2025, or starting Prep or Year 7 in 2025, please complete enrolment.
Check your contact information
Ensure your contact information is up to date with your school. You can check this information by contacting your school directly.
2025 School Planning:
As we move closer towards the end of the year, we are beginning to commence planning around the 2025 school year. To support us with these plans, we kindly are asking that if your child will not be returning to Wyndham Vale Primary School in 2025 to please contact the school informing us of this information. We thank you for your assistance with this matter.
2025 Class Development-
As a school we will soon begin developing our 2025 classes across the school. This huge process involves valuable input from teachers and the students themselves, however should parents/carers wish to put forth a request regarding their child’s placement, it must be placed in writing and emailed to the school with the subject line-2025 Classroom Request- Confidential. While we strive to accommodate your preferences, please note we will not consider requests for specific teachers.
All requests for consideration must be received by no later than Friday 1st November. Please note due to the complexity of scheduling, late requests will not be possible to accommodate.
Please be aware that requests are valid only for the following academic year and do not carry over from previous years.
