Principal's Message

 Dear Parents and Carers,

Wow, where have the first 4 weeks of term gone....

Year 12

Last Friday our Year 12 students completed their 13 years of schooling with a celebration day in Rawson.  On Thursday they had their traditional Hat and Tie celebration and a final whole school assembly where all students and staff had the opportunity to celebrate their final year and say goodbye.  It was a wonderful day filled with lots of different emotions for the students and staff.

The Year 12 exams began this week with English on Tuesday. Nerves excitement, anticipation and that was just the staff.  We are all very proud of how the students have embraced the start of exams and wish them all best of luck.

For our Year 12 students who are not sitting exams and have finished at our College and are out in the world pursuing other opportunities we wish you good luck as you start the next chapter of your lives.

We look forward to seeing all our Year 12 students again at our Graduation evening on the 21st November, a chance to celebrate all that has been achieved for the year.

Headstart

We encourage our families to ensure that they are aware of the Headstart program which will commence later in the term. More details can be found in the Upcoming Events page for key dates for Term 4.

If your child is in Year 11 (2024) – they will start their Year 12 (2025) studies in week 7. This will prepare students for 2025 providing them with them a solid start to their studies. Our current Year 11 students will also participate in a study camp from 13th to 15th November.

In week 9 the rest of our College will begin the Headstart program.  The current Year 7 students begin their Year 8 classes and so on.

Student Free day and Public Holiday

On Monday 4th November (the day before Melbourne Cup Day public holiday) we will be having a student free day.  This day is a Report Writing Day for all staff. Teaching staff will be working on Semester 2 reports.  These reports are very important for students, staff and families.  It is an opportunity for everyone to gain an understanding of a student's current academic levels and is a very useful tool to support our students in their academic growth.

State bound

Congratulations to our Year 7 Boys Table Tennis team who have made their way through to State Championships.  Good luck to the boys when they head off to the Melbourne on 29th of November.

Sincerely,
