Term 4 has started with some exciting activities for our students and staff!

Our school’s Loud Shirt Day fundraiser was a colorful and meaningful event that brought students and staff together in vibrant style, all for a great cause.  It took place on Friday 18 October and everyone was encouraged to wear their loudest, brightest, and most eye-catching shirts, raising awareness and funds for children with hearing impairments.  The excitement in the hallways was infectious, and the school was filled with an explosion of colors and creativity that was a joy to witness.

Loud Shirt Day is part of a national initiative, where schools, organisations, and communities raise funds to support specialised programs, hearing aids, and other resources for children with hearing loss.  These resources are crucial, as they help kids gain access to the tools they need to succeed academically and socially.

Students and staff who participated donated a gold coin.  These funds raised will go directly towards supporting educational and social services for children with hearing impairments, helping them thrive in their everyday lives.  Thank you to everyone who participated and donated—you’ve made a real difference!

Additional, on Friday 25 October, we celebrated World Teacher’s Day.  The theme this year was “Hats Off to Techers”!  Students showed their appreciation to their teachers and staff of Oakleigh Grammar for all the work they do to educate, inspire and empower young learners by giving them pens with cute hats and handwritten messages.  What a special present for our special staff!  On behalf of all staff, I would like to thank all students for their beautiful present!

Christmas is a time to celebrate with family and friends whilst relaxing and enjoying the time of year.  Oakleigh Grammar is holding a Christmas Appeal for the Greek Welfare Centre from Monday 20 October to Friday 22 November.  Oakleigh Grammar will collect non-perishable foods for those in need in our community.  We would like to call upon the community to demonstrate their good will and contribute as much as they are able.  SRC member will collect all donations during Home Group. Addition, donations can be delivered at the front office.  We appreciate your support.
