Term 3 Sport

This term has been very busy!! We’ve had a huge number of students represent Wales Street across many sporting events at different levels of competition.  

Gr 6 Soccer

The term started with our gr 6 Mixed and Girls soccer teams going to the Darebin Division competition. Both teams played really well and our Girls team made it into the Northern Regional comp. Congratulations to the girls came up against some tough opponents and finished 3rd in the Region! What a fantastic achievement!

Athletics

This week we took 48 students from grades 4, 5 and 6 to the Northcote District Athletics Carnival. They represented Wales Street in all track and field events, doing their best against students from other local schools. Well done to everyone who competed and best of luck to the 16 students who will now go through to the Darebin Division aths Mon 8th Sept, at Meadowglen Athletics stadium!

Gr 6 Gala Day

Good luck to all our gr 6 students who will compete in the Northcote District Gala Day, Friday 5th Sept. Students have chosen to participate in one of the following sports:

Spikeball, Hot shots tennis, Volleyball/Newcombe or Ultimate Frisbee.

Gr 4 Touch Rugby Clinics

As part of the PE program our gr 4 students have participated in a series of Touch Rugby clinics, with coaches from Touch Rugby Victoria. It’s been great to see the students having fun and progressively learning new skills.
