VICTORIAN PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE

Congratulations to all the students who have already completed this year’s challenge. This includes all the Prep grades and 1C. I am impressed with how many of the families in the lower school have added books to their dashboards to go with what has been read at school. There have also been some very enthusiastic Middle and Upper school students who have independently added their reading to their dashboards. Many of these students have completed their challenge

Students have until Thursday next week to add to their reading lists before it closes on Friday 5th September.

CBCA BOOK WEEK

We had great sunshine and WSPS enthusiasm for our Book character dress up parade on Tuesday and you can see some of the photos taken if you go to the school’s padlet under Book Week 2025. In Library class and Library Club we found out that Wales Street’s most popular shortlisted book was “Everything you ever wanted to know about the tooth fairy (and some things you didn’t), followed by “Spiro” and “The truck cat” in equal second place. Students also had the chance to create a book mark that related to one of four shortlisted books.

BOOK CLUB

A big thank you to Meg and her helpers for sorting out Book Club each issue. We will be sending out Issue 6 of Book Club and I will be getting our Library leaders to help sort the books for distribution for this issue.
