Year 3/4 Report

Term 3 2025

Welcome back to another exciting Term in 3/4! 

This term we've got some exciting events ahead, including:

  • National Day of Against Bullying - Friday 15th August
  • Book Week - Monday 18th to Friday 22nd August
  • Writer's Festival - 9th September
  • Are You Ok? Day - 11th September
  • Footy Day & Last Day of Term - 19th September

 

Literacy

This Term in Literacy, 3/4 students are writing a variety of News Reports to share at our Writer's Festival. Grade 3/4s have began writing about the new Canteen that opened this term and about the new playground that opened just last week. 

In Reading, Grade 3/4s are reading a variety of articles and stories, to practice skills such as summarising, inferring, predicting and critiquing. These skills will come in great use with their News Articles. 

 

Numeracy

This term students in Grade 3/4 are focusing on developing their multiplication skills. Students will develop a number of strategies to solve multiplication problems, using tools like Cuisenaire Rods to demonstrate our multiplicative thinking. Students will apply their strategies to a variety of real world problems. 

 

Inquiry 

Inquiry this term will see students gain a better understanding of the place we live, learning about the states and cities of Australia. Students will explore the landmarks, climate, history and native animals. Students will then pick a state in Australia and research all about it, creating a project to show their understanding. 

Reminders

  • School starts at 8:50am each morning
  • The Book Parade is Thursday 21st August and 9:15am
  • Students are asked to read at home for at least 10 minutes each night.
