Term 3 2025

Dear Roxburgh Park School Community,
It has been a busy and exciting start to Term 3, with plenty of wonderful highlights to share!
During the first 3 weeks of this Term we have undertaken a school review to evaluate our successes and areas working effectively at RPPS as well as identifying opportunities for improvement. We await our final report and recommendations from the panel and our leadership team will be planning our future directions for school improvement. A highlight from the review that the panel shared was how settled our classroom were and how respectful our students are at our wonderful school.
Farewell to Chris Walker and THANK YOU
It is with deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks that we say farewell to our incredible Maintenance and Groundskeeper, Chris Walker, as he moves on to enjoy a well-earned retirement.
Chris has been an integral part of the RPPS community for well over 15 years, and his impact on our school has been nothing short of extraordinary. From keeping our grounds looking beautiful to ensuring our learning environment is safe and welcoming, Chris has worked tirelessly—often behind the scenes—to make sure everything runs smoothly.
But beyond the hard work, it's Chris’s dedication, passion, and warm presence that have truly made a lasting impression. Whether it was a friendly chat at the gate, a helping hand during school events, or his quiet care for every corner of the school, Chris has shown what it means to be a true community member.
As he steps into retirement, we hope Chris enjoys every moment of this next chapter—filled with rest, relaxation, and all the things he loves most. It’s a well-deserved break after so many years of devoted service.
We want to thank Chris from the bottom of our hearts. RPPS simply won’t be the same without him, and we know many students, staff, and families will miss him dearly.
Thank you, Chris, for everything. You’ve left a legacy here that will be remembered for years to come.
With gratitude and best wishes to you.
✨ Parent/Teacher Interviews
A big thank you to all parents, guardians, and students who attended our Parent/Teacher interviews. It’s always a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school, and to celebrate the progress and achievements of our students.
🎉 100 Days of Prep!
Our Prep students recently celebrated their 100th day of school! It was a fun and memorable milestone that marks just how far they’ve come since the start of the year.
🍽️ Canteen Open
We’re excited to announce that our school canteen is now open! In the coming weeks, we’ll be seeking feedback from families so we can ensure the canteen best meets the needs and preferences of our school community.
🛝 New Playground Open
The new playground in front of the Mark Thompson Gym is now complete and open for use! It’s already proving to be a popular spot for our students to play, explore and enjoy.
📊 2026 Parent/Guardian/Carer Survey
We encourage all parents, carers, and guardians to complete the 2026 survey. Please see information on Sentral with instructions on how to complete the survey. Your feedback is essential in helping us improve and plan for the future of our school.
⚽ Year 5/6 Soccer Team
Our Year 5/6 Soccer Team has been proudly representing our school—well done to all students involved for your teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit! It has been a huge accomplishment that the team represented the school at Regionals and finished in 3rd place. Well done!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair—it was a great success! We also celebrated Book Week with enthusiasm and creativity. It was fantastic to see so many students and staff getting involved and sharing their love of reading.
📅 School Attendance Matters
A gentle reminder to all families about the importance of school attendance. Every day at school counts, and regular attendance is key to every student’s learning and success. The school day commences at 8:50am and it is essential that all students are on time for school each day.
We look forward to the second half of Term 3 and thank our students and parents/guardians for their continued support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Kate Newitt (Acting Principal)
Adrian Hanson (Assistant Principal)
Sarah Nobbs (Acting Assistant Principal)
