House Athletics Wrap & What’s Next
Congratulations to Bemin House — our 2025 House Athletics Champions! While Bemin took the shield, every house showed huge school spirit, teamwork and improvement across sprints, jumps and throws. A big thank you to staff and the many parents/carers who helped marshal, measure and cheer — days like this don’t happen without you!
In PE, students are now shifting gears into badminton. We’re building foundations in footwork and ready position, practising short/long serves, and learning rally etiquette and scoring—all with an emphasis on perseverance, respect and positive coaching of teammates.
Today (Wednesday 27 August) our selected athletes are competing at the District Athletics carnival. We’re proud of the way they represent RPS — giving their best, encouraging others, and living our values of Safety, Pride and Respect.
Well done, team — you’ve got this! 💪🏽
— Mr Rambaran, PE
We have been focusing on learning to count in Japanese, and many students are now able to count from 1 to 100.
Our junior students have been studying Japanese vocabulary related to fruits. They are improving their listening skills, particularly in understanding Sayako Sensei’s spoken Japanese. Students can now follow simple Japanese instructions, such as "please sit down" and "please look and listen."
The middle and senior students have been practicing writing numbers in Kanji. Several students have already mastered writing numbers from 1 to 100 in Japanese.
We are excited to announce our first Japan Day, which will take place on September 17th. Students will engage in various Japanese cultural activities throughout the day. Additionally, there will be an option to order a Japanese bento lunch. Students will also be encouraged to wear attire that reflects Japanese culture.
Further details will be provided soon.
