Messages from the Principal

Hello NPS Families,

Once more, thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this fortnight's newsletter. :)

This week started with a high, with what was a fantastic Book Week Parade! A huge shout-out to all our families for the incredible effort put into the costumes for our students. Seeing all the characters from our favourite books, movies, and of course, the odd soccer player, come to life was an absolute joy as always! The students looked amazing, and the parade was a real celebration of reading and imagination.

As of today, I am thrilled to announce that our playground painting project is officially complete! The new colours have turned our tired and exhausted-looking playground into a bright and cheerful play space. It was great to see students already enjoying the reinvigorated space throughout today. Next steps will be to replace several of the wooden components, staining the existing timber, adding anti-slip tape and... installing the three new slides, which are on their way!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking 8 students to Quantum Victoria - A Centre of Excellence and Innovation in STEM Education. Our students participated in the Quantum Victoria 3D Print-A-Car Challenge, where they had recently designed, planned, and printed a 3D Car! Yesterday, they were able to launch their car down a track using controlled CO2 canisters. Their cars were marked and timed and pitted against other schools that were also involved.

It was an incredible day of innovation and learning as they demonstrated fantastic teamwork and problem-solving skills, and we couldn't be prouder of their efforts. This hands-on experience was a great way to apply their STEM knowledge in a real-world context. A huge thank you to Mr. O'Meara for leading this project.

Our parent-teacher interviews have been a great success so far, having started this week, and although there have been a few reschedules needed, reports from teaching staff and families have been that it has been a great opportunity for families to discuss their child's progress and learning. As a school, we always appreciate your valuable partnership in your child's education.

Thank you again for reading, and have a GREAT weekend!
