Unlock Support for Your Child’s Early Development!
Did you know that your child may be eligible for free support to enhance their development? If your child is under 6 years old and has any developmental concerns (like language delays, articulation challenges, or other developmental issues), they could access a range of services through the Early Childhood Approach under the NDIS.
Here’s the best part: Your child doesn’t need a formal diagnosis to qualify for support! This means that services like speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, swimming lessons, psychology sessions, and more could be available to your child at no cost.
At Teesdale Primary School, we believe that every child deserves access to these valuable services. If we could provide speech and occupational therapy for every child, we absolutely would. These therapies benefit all kids, not just those with disabilities, and the impact extends beyond the child to the entire family! Sometimes, specialists may only need a few sessions to work directly with your child and then share strategies you can use at home.
Cognitive science shows us that early intervention is key in setting kids up for long-term success— the earlier we support children, the more impactful the results. Early intervention helps kids get the right support early on, which can reduce the need for further support as they grow.
If your child is eligible for NDIS funding, we can help by hosting these sessions right here at school, during school hours, in partnership with our network of trusted Allied Health specialists. We work closely with speech and occupational therapists, using consistent strategies to support your child’s goals both during and between their sessions.
How to Access Support:
To get started, you can fill out a referral form online here: NDIS Early Childhood Approach Referral Form. You can email the completed form to bsl.customerservice@ndis.gov.au, or print and send it by post. If you have any reports, assessments, or letters from health professionals, feel free to include them with your form, or send them through later.
