School News

Miss Marks' Message
Hello everyone,
My newsletter item is a little different this fortnight because our student leaders recently returned to school from their Leadership Camp at Beloka and I thought this was an ideal opportunity for our whole school community to learn about their learnings and plans for TPS this year.
Today, I have Tia, Olivia, Luke and Mason joining me to share with us their experiences, and you can read their Leadership Camp report below our video.
Middle School building update
Our students and our Middle School staff were very excited to return to their classrooms last week! It has been wonderful to see the students and staff settle back into their spaces. We are continuing to advocate for the repairs needed for this building, and will keep you informed of any further information.
Parents Club
Thank you to all the parents who have expressed an interest in joining the Parents Club. Please ensure you have registered online or through the office as we will soon be contacting you by email regarding our AGM and initial meeting.
Staff Farewell
At the end of this week, we say farewell to Philippa. Philippa has been working as part of our Inclusion Team. Although we are sad to be saying farewell, we are super excited to hear more about her family in the coming weeks as she prepares for the birth of her twins.
Wellbeing News
I highly recommend parents read the Wellbeing Report in this newsletter. Mr Lindsay has shared some information regarding access to a range of services through the Early Childhood Approach under the NDIS, for children under the age of 6. This means that services like speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, swimming lessons, psychology sessions, and more could be available to your child at no cost.
Key Dates
We are now in the second half of Term 1 with some exciting events coming up! Please dont forget to read the 'Dates to Remember' part of our newsletter so that you have information regarding events like our Junior School Swimming Program and our Athletics Day.
Enjoy your week,
Chelsey
Leadership Camp Reflections
- by Tia, Olivia, Luke and Mason (School Leaders)
What We Learnt:
At Beloka we learnt the importance of understanding how to be a reliable, capable and successful leader throughout 2025. At Beloka we learnt the values of school leadership. As we engaged in this topic we wondered what roles and abilities make a good successful leader? We pondered this question for a while but good examples of leadership traits are resilience, empathy, confidence, motivation, positivity and trustworthiness. Leaders model examples of good behaviour, never give up and always try their best even in tricky scenarios. Leaders strive towards their best potential and encourage others in their learning environment. We showed responsibility, encouragement, and gave everything a go at our leadership camp. Having been fortunate enough to experience, learn, make and discover new friendships, Beloka was a great opportunity for all of us. We would like to thank everybody that made this happen for us as we are extremely grateful and it has already made a huge impact with our leadership skills and traits.
Training the Pups:
When arriving at kelpie camp we were bursting full of excitement. At camp we had to earn the dog's trust. By earning their trust we could easily engage with our pups as we taught them how to go through the obstacles. We learnt on the farm how to herd the sheep with our eager furry friends. Next, we taught the kelpies to sit, stand or stay on our command. It taught us how to use authority when needed with our dogs. Although we were devastated to leave our furry friends, we learnt so much from teaching our kelpies and how it can make us a better leader for the future.
Our Pups:
Tia's pup - Maisie
Maisie was a loving and caring dog that always had a big smile on her face and her tail wagging frantically about. She was a very good girl when it came to sitting, standing, staying and completing her activities, but since she was full of excitement she would jump on everybody for a big hug!
Olivia's pup - Freckles
Freckles was an amazing dog who loved jumping, but did not love sitting… or staying. She was great with the sheep and very proactive. She was loving and caring with other dogs and made great relationships with everyone. She was the best and only dog I have ever had.
Mason's pup - Rosie
Rosie was calm, and sometimes very lazy and liked to have a go at the obstacle course but was not a big fan of the jumps. She was ten months old with a chocolatey brown coat. She was very obedient and liked to run. She loved the beach and liked eating all of the crabs on the beach and the mini starfish as well.
Luke's pup - Lucy
Lucy was very excited to see other dogs as well as very jumpy to play with other dogs. Lucy had a big personality and thought she was the boss, even though she was very small! Lucy liked to play fight with other dogs but she was a very good listener when it came to sitting. She was the smallest pup and may have felt left out, but showed her feisty personality.
Thank you:
As leaders we were fortunate enough to attend the amazing kelpie camp. We would like to thank everyone who has made the opportunity happen for us, as we are very appreciative of the experience we have got to enjoy.
