In the Classroom
and out and about!
Our Grade 1 AUSLAN students have been busy creating some wonderful artwork, which is now on display on the school boards.
These pieces showcase the students’ creativity and the skills they are developing in AUSLAN. Families might also like to support their children at home by practising the following emotions in AUSLAN: happy, sad, excited, surprised, and worried.
We encourage families to take a moment to view the students’ work next time they are at the school.

What an incredible turnout of colour and imagination we had at our student-led Dress Up Day! It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved in the fun, and our educators also went to an amazing effort with their costumes.
All students received a Zooper Dooper in their classrooms, and together our school community raised over $900 towards the resurfacing of our basketball courts.
Events like this really show our aspiring student leaders what can be achieved through initiative and teamwork, and how a simple idea can snowball into positive change within a school community.
A huge well done to our School Captains for the incredible effort they put into organising such a fun and successful event. We can only imagine these events getting bigger and even more exciting each time, and we look forward to seeing what our students come up with next!

It has been wonderful to see so many students attending Lego and Colouring Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This club provides a calm and welcoming space for students who may need a break from the busy playground, or for those who simply enjoy spending some quiet time building, colouring and connecting with friends. We are so pleased to see students making the most of this opportunity!

This year Langwarrin Park is having an Easter egg foil recycling competition.
Aluminium foil is recyclable, only if it is rolled into a ball the size of a tennis ball, otherwise it is too light and flies off the conveyor belt at the recycling plant.
To get involved in the competition carefully peel your Easter egg and bunny foil and keep it in one flat piece, bring this into your class and add it to your class container. We will make them into balls and weigh them to measure our recycling efforts.
Competition will close the second week of Term 2.
Once the competition has ended you can keep recycling in your household - simply roll your clean aluminium foil into a ball. When it is larger than a tennis ball size you can put it into your curb side recycling bin.
Good luck from the STEM Leaders – Abigail and Stevie, and Mrs Chidlow.
