Senior PE – Tennis Takeover
Over the past four weeks, students have been participating in a tennis unit, which has created a great buzz around the school. Many students have been enjoying practising their skills during lunch and recess as well.
Throughout the unit, students have been developing their forehand and backhand shots, learning how to rally with a partner, and improving their movement and positioning on the court. We were also fortunate to have coaches from the Australian International Sports Organisation come in and run sessions with our students. Their expertise helped students refine their technique while building confidence and enjoyment in the game.
It has been great to see so many students continuing to play tennis outside of class time and making the most of the equipment around the school.
Junior PE
Our junior students have been focusing on developing their fundamental movement skills through a range of fun activities, including running, jumping, balancing and coordination.
A series of activities inspired by the Winter Olympics were also introduced, with a focus on encouraging and supporting others. Students took part in events such as an Olympic torch relay, hockey, mogul skiing, cross country skiing, bobsled and curling challenges. It was great to see students cheering on and supporting their classmates throughout the activities.
Across both junior and senior classes, students have also been working on being cooperative, supporting their peers and participating positively in activities.
