Principal's Message

“ Act Justly, Love Tenderly and Walk Humbly with our God.”
Dear parents and carers,
This week we held the Annual General Meeting of the School Advisory Council. I was thrilled by the response I got from parents to join the SAC. The 2026 members are as follows;
Chairperson-Eliza Gallen
Secretary-Gemma Bunner
Parish Priest-Father Abmar
School Team- Jen Honner, Leisa Shortis and Mal Frend
Members-Georgie Rothwell, Agnes Kin, CJ Baldry-Adams, James Harvey, Karen Grimm, Katrina Leven
The main focus for the SAC is supporting opportunities for parent engagement in student learning. Also the provision of opportunities for parents for social, community and parish interaction and for parents to form supportive networks.
The SAC meets each term and we all left the meeting with lots of ideas, questions and thoughts around these key ideas;
Community, support, interaction, engagement and opportunity.
Our sincere thanks got to Lisa Berges who has held the position of Chair for a number of years. We appreciate Lisa’s involvement and support. Also to Jeni Muller who has held the position of Secretary for some time. Jeni’s work in this area has been one of dedication and we appreciate what she has done.
Stay tuned for more SAC news in the future. Please remember these people are keen to be a link between school and home.
Kind regards,
Jen
Differentiation at it’s best!
Effective differentiation takes place when teachers adjust aspects of content, process and product in direct response to a student’s readiness, interests and learning profile. Teachers may also modify the learning environment in direct response to a student’s learning profile.
Adult density at SXG enables us to adjust the learning to suit the needs of each student. It also allows us to gain real insight into the needs of each student.
