BADMINTON

BADMINTON AT KSC

Another day of sport and another Korumburra team has successfully made it through to the Regional Gippsland competition.  Well done to the senior girls for their teamwork and persistence on court. After leading the singles matches three games to one. It came down to the doubles games in which the senior girls were unable to pull off a win meaning that the match went on a points count back with Korumburra finishing on 108 points to Mary Mac 103 points.

Well done on your team spirit and to our two senior boys who scored and supported the matches.

A huge shout out to our senior boys team, who despite being 2 players down on the day due to illness and other factors, it didn’t stop them still being competitive and having a go in their matches. It was incredible to see their respect for other competitors and the game on show along with the support that they showed one another on court in the doubles matches.

Intermediate girls displayed grace and a refined etiquette in their play throughout their games, and despite being a competitive force on the court, a few other teams were a little stronger on the day.

Offsite at Leongatha, we had a Year 8 Boys/Mixed team entered comprising of two male Year 8’s and two female Year 7’s. Ms Bartlett was impressed with their sportsmanship and humour on court as they found the ‘fun’ side of the day, making the matches quite entertaining.

Thankyou to all of our Badminton players who came to play and represent the college on a student free day, to Ms Kordus who was an amazing support to the running of the day as well as coaching the intermediate team, Ms Bartlett for coaching the Year 7/8 mixed team and Ms Lloyd for convening the day and supporting the senior male/female teams.

Good luck Senior Girls at  the next level!
