Year 8 Update

A Note from our Parliamentarians

The Year 8 Theatre Production class went to see Wicked the Musical at The Regent Theatre in the city. We all had a great experience that we will all remember, and we learnt many new and interesting things about theatre productions.

We also participated in the Shelford Swimming Carnival and the Cross-Country last term. It was a great way to have a blast with all our friends and make memories while contributing to our Houses. Many year 8s are getting excited for the upcoming House Athletics and getting into the House spirit by signing up for all the discus, long jump, triple jump, sprinting, shot put and novelty races to help their House earn points.

Many year 8s hosted the Japanese students that came to visit Shelford. It was very fun to talk to them and find out how their everyday life looked like compared to ours (and learn some light Japanese). It was also nice to learn about Japanese culture, such as their dancing, cuisine, and many other things.  Some year 8s are in the bands that are performing in the upcoming Autumn Concert, and they have been working very hard with a bunch of rehearsals and sectionals over these few weeks.
