Principal's Message
Dear parents, students and families,
In the happiness of Eastertide we celebrate the Grace that Jesus has given to us through his death and resurrection. The gospel this week reminds us of Jesus commandment to love one another.
John writes 'This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.'
When we are working with our children this week we are asking them about how they show love for one another.
The bible commentator Greg Sunter explains :'There is a wonderful line from the musical, Les Miserables, when the hero, Valjean, is told, ‘To love another person is to see the face of God.’ As Christian people, we believe that every person is created in the image and likeness of God. To look upon another person with love and compassion is to see the face of God revealed. When we are called to love, we are called to recognise that every single person is worthy of love and every single person is made in the image of God – even ourselves!'
This last week has been a short week We thank Mrs Winduss for the wonderful ANZAC Liturgy that was held last Wednesday afternoon.
Today our whole school photo was taken. This is an important part of the school documenting its history. As you walk down the corridor we have many photos from previous years and I often see children stopping to look at them, finding themselves and the people they know. These photos bring a great sense of belonging to the community of the past.
Last night we engaged in the First Holy Communion Information evening. What a blessed night. We thank Father Martin for his dedication to the Sacramental Program and we thank our teachers who support the sacraments in the classrooms.
