Funrun
In the last week of term, Seymour College students participated in a Colour Fun Run. It was lovely to see so many siblings, families and community members running alongside their children and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Well done to the grade 6 leaders who supported their foundation buddies to get started!
Grade 5/6 News
We are excited to share with you the recent engaging activities taking place in Grade 5/6 classrooms while learning about persuasive texts.
Last week, the students encountered an unexpected challenge when their chairs decided to go on strike! Surprisingly, the chairs gathered at the back of the classroom, forming a determined huddle, and refused to allow the children to sit on them. The chairs had communicated their grievances to the students through a written letter. They expressed frustration over being constantly moved around and not being tucked in, with some chairs even mentioning unpleasant odours that had been committed.
The students were tasked with the challenge of writing persuasive letters to convince their chairs to end the strike. The students worked hard writing their letters and teachers said that the chairs were thoroughly convinced and let the students use them again.
