Student Learning Culture and Growth

Parent Student Teacher Interviews
As we welcome our students back to the College, we also welcome our Parents and Carers tonight to the Parent Student Teacher Interviews. This year the interviews will be conducted in the College Hall and commence at 4:00pm both tonight and next Tuesday 23 April.
Parent-Student-Teacher interviews are vital for fostering strong learning partnerships between the college and parents or carers. These meetings offer the chance to meet the child's teachers, establish rapport, and discuss both positive feedback and areas for growth. They are instrumental in enabling every student to reach their full potential.
2025 Subject Selection
During Term 2, the College also commences our planning of the 2025 Subject Selection process for students from Years 8-11. We commence this process with our 2025 Subject Selection Showcase Parent Information Evening, held at the College on Tuesday 21 May.
This year, the College will be hosting student information sessions during the school day for both Years 8 and 9, as well as Years 10 and 11.
Following these sessions, there will be an opportunity for parents and carers to attend the Subject Selection Showcase Information Evening at the following times:
- Years 8 and 9 – 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
- Years 10 and 11 – 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Further details will be provided to all families and carers to ensure that our students are well-informed about the range of subjects available at Marist Sion College.
VCAA GAT
As our students continue to engage in learning during the term, our Senior Students commence preparation in the coming weeks for the 2024 VCAA GAT (General Achievement Test) to be held at the College on Tuesday 18 June and the Year 10 work experience, commencing on Tuesday 11 June.
Colour Awards
In the coming weeks, the teachers are nominating students for the 2024 Colour Awards, which will be held at the College on Tuesday 25 June. The Colour awards recognises students from Year 10-12 for sustained success and excellence of performance and encourage students to achieve their personal best in a range of areas: These areas include;
