Foundation (Prep-Year 2)
Prep B has had an amazing start to Term 2!
We have had so much fun learning all about friendship and exploring how to be a good friend to each other. In Reading, we have journeyed around the Prep Area labelling what we can see. In Writing, we have been describing our experiences in play. For Numeracy we have learnt the concept of ‘more’ and ‘less’ through games, counting, and matching visuals. In PBIS we are learning when, how, and who to ask for help. We love developing our character play skills in the Play Program, run by Janine and the Speech Pathologist’s at Jackson School. GMP, run by Jack and Janine, allows us to strengthen our gross motor movement safely and excitingly. In STEM with Kieran, we explore robots like BEEBOT’s. In Art with Ane, Prep B has been collaborating on beautiful whole class art works about Anzac Day, book characters and more. We love role play, music, and dancing in Performing Arts with Nikki. Prep B had the best time at the Fun Run last Friday.
We are excited for the term ahead.
Lower Primary (Years 3-4)
Last week the Lower Primary classes participated in a special incursion. We had a visit from a Vietnamese dance group to show case what they do as a cultural group. This was to support our students in their Inquiry learning about Community groups. Our students enjoyed Vietnamese music, dance and had an opportunity to make "Trong Com" (Rice Drums).
Upper Primary (Years 5-6)
Upper Primary students have had a busy two weeks! We ventured out on our first excursion, a walk around our local community as an introduction to our inquiry topic this term. Students enjoyed exploring the community and demonstrated a good knowledge of safety in the community. In the second week of the term students participated in our annual Jackson School Fun Run. They enjoyed navigating the different obstacles and stayed engaged for the duration. They all enjoyed an icy pole at the end.
