Helping others be healthy

The Year 1 and 2 Learning Community have been learning about the different ways we can stay healthy. They have learned about the way they can be physically, emotionally, and socially healthy throughout the term.

To show their learning, the students formed small working teams. In these teams, they chose an area of health to focus on and thought about how we can keep healthy in their focus area. They then created a workshop for others to participate in. For example, if we were physically healthy, we would participate in races, or if we were socially healthy, we would play a team game such as Duck, Duck, Goose.

Last week, the students shared their workshops with the Year Preps.

Physical Health

The workshops for physical health included races, an obstacle course, games of Simon Says, and dodgeball.

Social Health

The workshops for social health included Duck Duck Goose, playing teachers, and getting-to-know-you games.

Mental Health

The workshops for mental health included mindfulness colouring and drawing, guided meditation, reading, and making books.
