Open Day

Open Day was fantastic and the student work on display was great to see. Thank you to the staff and students for their efforts in preparing the Trades area for the day. We had some awards on the day which are listed below.

Engineering

Visitors Choice                   Corey Childs                                     Tipping Flat Top Trailer

Professionals Choice       Daniel May                                        Welding Bench

Furnishing

Visitors Choice                   Jake Butt                                           Bar Table

Professionals Choice       Noah James                                     Floating Bed

We also had some classic cars on display from the Avon Valley Vintage Vehicle Association (AVVVA) and the Council for Motoring Clubs of WA (CMA). They provided an interesting addition, and it was great to have their participation on the day.

The AVVVA have generously donated the $3000 to rebuild our Thames truck flat head V8. Their support has enabled us to do a full rebuild of the engine. This provides our students with a great opportunity to be involved in rebuilding the engine.

The CMC of WA took the opportunity to visit the College with a view to consider future additional funding to support our programs.

Year 12 Students

Year 12 Students have been working hard to complete their work. It creates a different environment when everyone is motivated to finish up their work.

Major projects are nearing completion; however, some may not finish their project by the end of this term. Students that have utilised the after-hours workshop times and made a reasonable effort to complete their project, may be offered the opportunity to come back next term to complete their projects.

All students have been reminded regularly to attend these sessions.
