Co-curricular - Junior Sport
It is hard to believe that there are only three rounds of Summer sport remaining for the year. As such, boys are encouraged to continue to work hard at training and to hone their focus for the few remaining weeks. While winning all three final games would be a great way to end the season, the focus should be on implementing all the learning from the season and putting it into each game. Being focused on the process, rather than the outcome, often leads to greater, more consistent achievement. Good luck to all our teams competing in Round 10 this weekend.
With the end of the season fast approaching, the boys have a few responsibilities. Basketballers are reminded that they must return their playing singlet, washed, and folded after the final round (Round 12) of the season. All singlets must be accounted for. Any singlet not returned will result in the cost of a replacement singlet being charged to that student. Please have them back promptly at the conclusion of the season. All kits need to be returned, neatly packed and with all equipment inside.
Over the weekend, Dante Barbanera of Year 6 competed in the Pan Pacific Jiu Jitsu Competition in Melbourne. With competitors from around the world competing, the competition standard is very high. This year Dante had a dominant performance winning through to the final bout. In the final, Dante was able to win with a submission in under one minute. A great performance! To date, Dante has been undefeated this year in his division. We wish Dante every success as he continues to develop his talent in this area. We look forward to hearing of greater success as he moves into stage four.
A reminder that the Junior School Sports Presentation Evening is approaching and will be held on Friday 24 November in the College Gym. I look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate the achievements of the boys this year in sport. Details to come.
