Principal's Message

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back as we commence our final term for the 2023 year.  It was lovely to see the children return to school last week, engaging with their friends and sharing stories about their holiday break.

This term is especially significant for our Year 6 students as they approach the final weeks of their primary school journey. There is already talk about secondary school transition, orientation visits and graduation. We will certainly  be thinking of them all and we hope that they value and enjoy the company of their peers over the remaining weeks.

It was unfortunate that we had to postpone our school sports for this evening. This is such typical Melbourne weather!

We are looking to reschedule and will inform families as soon as a new date has been locked in.

Education Week Open Classrooms

COHR families are invited to our Education Week Open Classrooms afternoon in Week 4 - Tuesday 24th October from 3:30-4:30pm. This will provide an opportunity for families to engage in learning activities together, as well as showcase some of the wonderful spaces within our school. We invite all parents, grandparents and family memebers to attend this event.

Division Athletics

We were very proud of our 21 senior students who made it through to Division Athletics.  It was held last Thursday at the Bill Stewart Athletics Track in Burwood. Both at an individual and team level, the children gave it their best.

Five of our students achieved sucess by coming either 1st or 2nd in their event and will now progress to the Eastern Metropolitan competition on 19th October. We wish them all the very best at this next level of competition.

Division Basketball

This week our basketabll team represented our district at Nunawading Basketball Centre. All matches were very close, with our first pool match being a loss by only by 2 points to the team that were the eventual winners of the day! We made it through to the semifinals, where we lost by just 6 points. The standard of the entire competition was very high and we are so proud of the postive way our team represented both COHR and the district.

COHRCELLA

Unfortunately this school social event has been cancelled. I am very grateful to the PA working party who have spent a considerable amount of time and effort planning for this special event. Please refer to the Parents Association page of this newsletter for further details regarding this decision.

School Concert

A flexischool notice was sent home last week containing the link to our wonderful school concert.  Here is the link again in case you missed the notice and a reminder to download the concert to your device, as this link will only last for 6 months.
