Great Southern Perspectives

It was lovely on Sunday afternoon to celebrate the work of our many talented students, with work on display from Years Nine to Twelve. There was a wide variety of work, from Ella Main’s many collected shells beautifully placed on a surfboard, to Georgia Patterson’s playful take on 'Where is The Green Sheep?' There were paintings commenting on parents and their life journeys, explorations of identity, and even the Royal Agricultural Show. The afternoon was also a chance to see the Year Ten’s YOH Fest performance, our Media students’ films and CinefestOZ entries. Well done to all our creative students!

'The Carer’s of Everything: Red Moort A Dream'

A small grove of trees behind the Hall became a theatre set on Sunday afternoon as Year Eleven Drama performed their response to the story 'The Carer’s of Everything' by Dr Noel Nannup. Aunty Carol Pettersen worked with the students on our Red Moort Camp earlier this year. Year Eleven Visual Arts students created the headdresses for the echidna, goanna, red moort tree and honey possum. The play was profound and moving, and the weather was superb for an outside play.

Kingfisher Concert

I’m really looking forward to the Kingfisher Concert at the Albany Entertainment Centre this evening. It will be a great finish to a big week in the Arts.
