Wellbeing

Purpose    I    Positive Emotions    I   Relationships   I   Meaning    I    Accomplishment

The focus areas for wellbeing across the school this term are the Norms, Emotional Literacy and Strengths.

This term, the children will begin with the Start Up program to build a positive culture and establish routines. As part of this, they will review the school norms and create a class agreement and they will participate in a range of VWB (Visible Wellbeing brain break activities) to promote a co-operative, kind, calm and happy classroom. These short brain break or brain boost activities will be part of the daily practice at school.

With the introduction BYOD program, we will focus on responsibility and integrity when using technology in the classroom. The ICT Agreement will be unpacked with the class to ensure there is a common understanding of what is expected. The children will engage in a series of Cyber Safety sessions focusing on responsibility and how to keep themselves safe when using technology.

As part of the RRRR program, the children will focus on emotional literacy. They will explore concepts such as what emotions look like, emotional triggers and how these triggers influence our behaviour. Also, they will learn to be more aware of their personal strengths. They will learn about strength spotting and identifying character strengths in oneself and others. They will also explore how we can use these attributes to build strong teams and communities.
