ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8:30am for a Traditional Service and 10:00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for primary school aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services. On the first Sunday of the month, we join together in one service, with a blended style of worship.  That means that this Sunday, 7 April there will be one service at 9.30am.  It is also the end of Daylight Savings, so don’t forget to put your clocks back one hour the night before.

DECORATING THE CHURCH FOR EASTER

Thanks to all the children in the school who helped make, create and cut out flowers to decorate the church with for Easter Sunday celebrations.  The church was a bright coloured ‘garden’ to celebrate the new life we have in the resurrected Jesus.  The display on the balcony above the front door to the church has changed for the Easter season – the coloured butterflies are back!

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Playgroup @ St Paul is on each Tuesday during term time in the Hall for children aged 0-5 and a parent/caregiver.  Playgroup runs from 9:00-10:30am, but we welcome people anytime from 8:30am onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9:00-10:30am each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family.

This week, we looked at possums with the children’s classic book ‘Possum Magic’ by Mem Fox.  At the craft table we made paper possums that hang up by their tail and stacked the wooden Australian native animals into a tower for a bit of fun.

Next week we will be looking at the farm with the book ‘Double the Fun – Farm’ by Mary Novick.

For more information about anything playgroup related contact Kylie Koelman in the Church Office on 8262 4690 or email at office@stpaul-church.org.au

ST PAUL YOUTH (SPY)

St Paul Youth is for school Years 6-8 and runs the first and the third Friday evening of the school term.  The next date is this Friday, 5 April at 7:00pm.  Cost is $2 per family.  The SPY format is a time of fun and games, some devotional conversations and then a shared supper.  Feel free to come along and join with leaders Dan, Tom and Renate to see what SPY has to offer.  If you have any questions in the meantime, contact Dan Kitson on ypfministry@stpaul-church.org.au.

GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

This week the Bible reading focuses on Jesus appearing to his disciples for the first time since his resurrection from the dead.  He announced ‘Peace be with you’ and showed them the scars in his hands and sides.  The disciples were overjoyed when they saw Jesus again.

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

 (John 20:21)

Mealtime Prayer:

Risen Lord Jesus, you give us food for the body and peace for the soul. May faith be our way and love be our goal. Amen.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, open our minds to understand the Scriptures and our mouths to speak of you. Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s name) May the light of God’s face shine on you and be gracious

to you and fill your heart with joy. Amen.
