We acknowledge the first peoples of the Kulin Nation, Their Dreaming of the past , present and future. We pay our respect for their land by looking after the land we learn and play on.
Our Outside School Hours Care program aims to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children at the highest possible standard.
Last week OSHC celebrated Harmony week, celebrating our many cultural differences and what makes us an OSHC family.
Educators planned a week of activities to encourage learning about each other’s backgrounds and our weekly menu included snacks from a range of different countries. We celebrated St Patrick’s day by finger painting pots of gold, practiced our fine motor skills by making God’s eyes, students tested their knowledge with a trivia afternoon and students baked Hallongrota and flat breads in our cooking activities.
Our handprint activity was a fabulous way to highlight all the different places our students come from and gave us an opportunity to ask questions and learn from one another. Although we come from all different backgrounds we are all part of one big OSHC family.
This week we have continued to with some self guided Harmony day activities as well as some Easter activities in the lead up to the weekend. Paper bag bunnies, sewing felt Easter eggs, pop up cards and a faux egg hunt have been popular so far.
Outside our students have been making the most of the nice weather and have been playing cricket, 2 square, tennis and big group card games. Younger students have set up a chalk tattoos shop and at Before Care production of part 2 of the student's movie is well underway.
The program will run as normal on Thursday, starting at 2:30pm. If your child is not attending, as always, please let us know as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary chasing down of children.
Wishing everyone a safe and fun holiday break, see you all in 2 weeks time ready for term 2!
