Inclusive Education

Inclusive education means that all members of every school community are valued and supported to fully participate, learn, develop and succeed within an inclusive school culture. Mount Beauty Secondary College is underpinned by a commitment to maximising opportunities for each student and making appropriate adjustments to the school environment and learning to ensure that this is achieved.

We focus on developing the knowledge and skills of school staff and creating a unique partnership with students and their families to connect with the school.

Welcoming Student Differences

Victoria has a strong and vibrant education system that celebrates diversity and is committed to supporting the achievement and participation of all students. Inclusive education acknowledges that some children and young people have intersecting identities or additional needs that schools may need to take into consideration. At Mount Beauty Secondary College, we welcome families and students to meet with us if students require curriculum or environmental modifications. If the school has concerns or worries staff will contact families to make a time to discuss concerns and ways that we can support students.

Strength Based Approach

Every student at Mount Beauty Secondary College has unique interests and strengths. Whilst staff make adjustments in the classroom our priority is to harness students' strengths and interests to overcome any challenges. When teachers plan lessons, they will actively plan for the prioritisation of a strength-based approach.
