Things to know

We the community members of Launching Place Primary School acknowledge the traditional owners, the Kulin nations, of the land on which we learn and play.

We pay respects to the Aboriginal Elders, past and present, who are our teachers.

We thank them for taking care of children and country for countless generations.

Just a reminder that some of our staff work from 9:00am to 3:30pm and are therefore entering and departing the staff carpark at these times.  To ensure safety, parents and students are encouraged to stick to the paths from the front shelter into the school and avoid walking through the staff carpark.  Thank you!

First Aid

Please help keep our school community healthy by following these guidelines, and reporting any virus, infection or illness to the front office.

  • Head lice: It is the responsibility of parents/carers to check students’ heads for head lice regularly and report any cases to the school office or classroom teacher. When you are treating your child 2 treatments are essential, 7 days apart.
  • Cold and flu: Cold or flu-like symptoms should limit contact with others and stay at home until symptoms have passed. Good general hygiene remains the best defence against infection and children are encouraged to regularly wash their hands and cover their nose and mouth if sneezing and coughing.
  • To help stop the spread of germs:
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
  • Throw used tissues in the trash
  • If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.
  • Vomiting or Gastro: Any student who vomits must not attend school for 24 hours after it ends. Any further gastro-like symptoms require a similar 24 hours exclusion eg. Loose or runny stools, nausea and stomach cramps.
