Principal's Message

Rachel Baker | Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy term we have had so far. The students are continuing to work towards their individual learning goals as well as participate in Surfing lessons, Swimming lessons, St Patrick's Day and Harmony Day celebrations and visits from Sydney Catholic Schools Executives. I hope all families were able to slow down and enjoy some quality family time during Wellbeing Week last week.

RECONCILIATION

On Saturday students from Year 3 made their First Reconciliation. It was a very special morning for these students. They were extremely reverent. Thank you to Mrs Smithson, Miss Siapkas, Fr Allan and Fr Rafael for preparing these students.  Congratulations Year 3.

ST PATRICK'S DAY

St Aidan's celebrated Saint Patrick's Feast Day last Monday and wore a touch of GREEN. Saint Patrick is the beloved patron saint of Ireland who is known for introducing Christianity to Ireland. Saint Patrick died on the 17th March which is when Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated every year. The shamrock is a symbol of Ireland and Saint Patrick's Day. Saint Patrick used the shamrock in his teachings of God to visually illustrate the concept of the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

HARMONY WEEK

Last week we celebrated Harmony Week at St Aidan's. During this time each year we recognise the diverse cultural backgrounds that form our beautiful St Aidan's Community. The students created work to add to a Harmony whole school collage which reminded them to always be inclusive and respectful so that everyone always feels welcome. This year’s theme echoes the importance of creating environments that encapsulate the spirit of togetherness and belonging.

EASTER RAFFLE & EASTER LITURGY

Thank you to our Kindergarten Parents for wrapping all of our Easter raffle gifts last Friday. The Easter raffle will take place this Wednesday 27 March at 2.30pm on the back playground. Please remember to bring back all of your raffle tickets and money to the school office.

We are looking forward to our Easter Liturgy when we return after Easter on Thursday 4 April at 2pm in the Holy Family Church. All are welcome.

I wish you all a blessed and safe Easter next weekend. I hope all families have a well deserved mini break. Have a lovely week!

Warm regards,

Rachel Baker
