SAC UPDATE – March 2024 School Advisory Council

On Tuesday the School Advisory Council met for the second meeting of the year. The agenda was full and there was great discussion around the table.

The main agenda items that were discussed included:

  • PFOL and activities for the year ahead.
  • SWELL day
  • Learning and teaching activities
  • Open day for 2024 and school tours
  • Policy review - Homework

We take correspondence from parents very seriously and off the back of some correspondence received it was timely to review our homework policy. As a group we all agreed that the homework policy does need to be changed and we need further input from families so that we can determine what is right for our school.

You will soon receive an email requesting your input into what you believe homework is and what your expectations on homework are for your children. We understand that there will be differing views on this across the school community.

We will not only use parent feedback, but we will also consult surrounding schools to understand what is happening more broadly, we will look into the latest research studies and also be guided by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools our governing body.

We would appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey, as your views are so important to the success of our school.

If you would like to discuss in person, I welcome anyone to reach out to me at the following email address kjlewis100@gmail.com or on 0433 280 355.

Thanks

Kate Lewis
