2024 Musical

Hey everyone!

Guess what?! Our school is buzzing with excitement as we dive into rehearsals for the upcoming musical - "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"!

The energy in the air is absolutely electric as we bring this beloved story to life on stage. From Willy Wonka's whimsical world to Charlie's heartwarming journey, every moment is filled with wonder!

We can't wait for you all to experience this production. Stay tuned for updates, sneak peeks, and more behind-the-scenes fun!

We are counting down the days until showtime in Term 3.

Year 5 Election

Our Year 5 students recently wrote persuasive texts on why they should be the class mayor! This has been part of the Year 5 Civics and Citizenship component of HASS.

Under the careful pre-selection by Mr. van Ryn, 7 promising candidates emerged to stand for this prestigious role.

The young leaders took to the stage with their inspiring speeches, pouring their hearts out on why they deserve to lead their peers. Longer break times, lolly hunts, photo rallies, a school magazine and amazing race were just some of the ideas that were presented to the student body. After hearing each candidate's vision and passion, it was time for a vote - democracy in action at its finest!

It's incredible to see our students engaging in such meaningful activities that not only develop public speaking skills but also nurture leadership qualities from a young age. Congratulations to all the participants for stepping up and showcasing their talents!

Term 1 Secondary Assembly

What an incredible Term 1 assembly we had with our Secondary School on Wednesday.

We came together as a community, sang uplifting worship songs together, and shared moments of gratitude. Mrs Armstrong shared with us a valuable talk about why we sing in worship and our SLC president, Ellie Beeston, shared a beautiful devotion. From reflecting on the transformative experiences of school camps to celebrating our amazing athletics and swimming carnival champions, the assembly was a celebration of this past term.

A huge thank you to Riverbank for hosting us and providing such a wonderful venue for our gathering today.

NHSSA T20 Cricket - Premiers!

Our NHSSA T20 Cricket team took on SPC in the T20 Cricket Grand Final on Wednesday 10th April.

The match was held in salubrious conditions up at St. Patricks College. SPC won the toss and elected to bowl and that decision paid early dividends as they bowled well and had us on the ropes at 5/37. LCS rallied and managed to get 95 runs on the board from 19.5 overs. Abhishek Khati top scoring with 16 not out, followed by John Pariyar (14) and Wesley Bosker (9).

It was going to require an excellent bowling performance to limit SPC to less than 96 runs and that’s exactly what the boys did. Josiah Poole bowled exceptionally well, at one stage snaring a wicket maiden and double wicket maiden to have figures of 3/1 (from 3 overs). The whole bowling unit was able to stay consistent and bowled very tightly, restricting the flow of runs and making it tough for SPC to score. Ethan Rose-Nel (0/10 from 4 overs), Liam Winter (1/9 from 4 overs), Ezra Smith (2/25 from 4 overs), Josiah Poole (3/10 from 4 overs), Abhishek Khati (3/20 from 3 overs) and Josh Green (0/4 from 1 over) did a stellar job!

The match came down to the final over and final batting pair for SPC. They needed 12 to win from the last over and Josiah bowled out his 4th over with continued consistency to help clinch victory. SPC needed a 4 from the final ball to stretch the match to a super over (or a 6 to win) but they only managed a single to finish on 9/92.

Well done LCS and a special shout out to Jeremy Bonnice for coaching the boys again this season, we appreciate you and the time and effort you continue to put in to assist our cricket teams!

NSATIS Basketball Grand Final Results

Well done to our NSATIS Boys and Girls 3rds Basketball teams who made it through to the Grand Finals.

The Girls played their Grand Final against SOC and just fell short of victory in an entertaining match.

The Boys took on SPC and were successful in clinching the title!

Congratulations to both teams. A shout out also to our Boys and Girls 2nds teams who didn't make the GF but also had solid seasons.

None of this would have been possible without the awesome help of our coaches. Brentley Woods (Boys 2nds), Yvette Blok & Sam Vanderkley (Girls 2nds), Adrian Bosker (Boys 3rds) and Scott Black (Girls 3rds)

Thats a wrap for our 2024 NSATIS Basketball, there will be opportunities for our Yr. 7-10 to play basketball later in the year in the NHSSA Thursday Basketball competition.

My Christian School

CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS ARE different.

Our students go into the world with Christian hope in their hearts. A new generation of Aussies who love to volunteer, to serve their communities and to build strong families.

At the heart of this difference is the living Christian faith of teachers and staff. People whose lives model the grace and love of Christ. However, proposals from the Australian Law Reform Commission threaten to change this. Hiring a teacher or staff member at a Christian school because they are actually a Christian may soon be seen as discrimination.

My Christian School is for Australians who believe in this difference.

Together, we can preserve this precious difference for future generations.
