STEM Report
Hello everyone, it feels like just yesterday that I was welcoming in the start of a new year and we are already at the end of Term 1. Most students have settled back into the routines of the school day very well and have been using the Learning Ladders to monitor and motivate their own learning progress. Specialist teachers also use the same classroom Learning Ladders as part of a school wide approach to positive behaviour. For parents, the ladders create a great discussion point about your child's day and an opportunity to monitor and set goals for their effort in the classroom.
This term has seen some fantastic effort from many of or RPPS students. Check out some of the work samples below.
Grade 1/2 students have been learning about changing materials, here are some of their Origami pets and their student reflections.
Grade 5 students have been learning about adaptations that help living things survive in extreme environments. They were tasked with designing a new species of bear to survive in the Great Sandy Desert. Check out some of their ideas and diagrams.
That's all for now. Have a safe and enjoyable break, see you all next term!
