Netball

Well done to all College teams last week, it was another great round of netball with high levels of teamwork and effort from all players involved.

Both senior teams had strong wins. College Vixens were triumphant over Monivae. Despite missing players, the girls worked together, creating many turnovers and the shooters’ accuracy was phenomenal!  College Thunderbirds had a strong win against Bambridge, displaying great teamwork as the girls put in their full effort.  The fluency down the court was great and turnovers were converted into goals.

The Year 7/8 teams had their big play-off this week, College v College, with Firebirds taking the win. The Firebirds fielded a full team on Saturday and played a consistent and excellent team game against the Mavericks, who were missing a couple of their more experienced team members.  There were great passages of play during the game from both sides, and I was impressed with the willingness of people to play out of position to try and help their team. Across the board, it was great to see improvement in the games of every player!  A shout out to the following Mavericks players this week for a real ‘team-first’ focus and consistent four quarters: Elodie Cochran, Leila Robertson and Georgia Brown. The Firebird girls communicated with each other well throughout the midcourt and ring. They worked hard in the second quarter to move and get in front of their players. Aida Adamson and Annabelle Wenn were standouts on the court, playing strongly this round.

Thank you to all the umpires, coaches and volunteers who continue to make this competition possible.

This Saturday is the final round for the Term One season.  Go College!
