Weeks 8-9 Review

WOW! What a busy few weeks we have had. From Harmony Day and Colour Run in week 8 to excursions and house cross country in week 9, the Year 5s have been very busy. On top of all that, we are also working to complete a number of projects before the end of the term. The students have been researching and presenting information on their chosen country for Inquiry, designing a new planet for our Solar System in Science, writing a free choice Narrative or Persuasive piece and completing a Capacity Investigation in Maths - phew! We look forward to being able to share these completed tasks with you all by the end of the term.

Please enjoy the photo display below of Year 5s in action.

Colour Run

Harmony Day

A big thank you to Reyna and Candy, parents of Jacob (5DW) and Ka Ching (5KY) for informing us about the Filipino culture and helping us create the colourful Jeepnies seen in the photos below.

Scienceworks Excursion

Thank you to the wonderful parents who volunteered to attend the Scienceworks excursion with us on Thursday 27th March. The students had a wonderful time in the Planetarium learning about the existence of water in our Solar System and then exploring the hands on displays around the museum.

And for those of you who are interested, the winner of the head-to-head race between Mr Webb and Mr Bird was... A DEAD HEAT!! But Cathy Freeman still beat them by 0.04sec.

Next week is the final week for Term 1 and is also Planning Week across the school. The Year 5s have their planning day on Monday.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and, after next week, have a safe and relaxing Easter holiday break.

Kind regards,

Year 5 Team
