Welcome to Week 9!
It is absolutely wild to think that a whole term has nearly finished! We have been very busy in Grade 2 learning all about implementing our School Values of 'To Strive, To be Responsible, To Care and To be Respectful'. The students have worked really hard over this term and you should be very proud of them! Below you will see some photos from Harmony Day and the Colour Run. Have a safe and Happy Easter and an amazing holidays! We will see you next term!
Important Dates:
Crunch and Sip!
Next Term, the Grade 2 students are trialling 'Crunch and Sip' in the classrooms. Please read the information below.
Last Thursday the students came to school wearing a 'Touch of Orange' or to dress as from their culture. The Grade 2s enjoyed participating in an activity run by Whitehorse Council where they coloured in and drew food from their heritage. They also got to make pizzas with the OSCH team.
So much fun was had! The kids had a ball, they were covered head to toe in a cloud of rainbow dust! Thanks to all the volunteers that helped on the day!
Information will be sent to you next term in preparation for our Swimming Program, which we are very excited about. We have found this program to be more successful when:
You can help your child to prepare for the Swimming Program in a few different ways. Both at home and after swimming lessons (if your child already has after school lessons), encourage them to dress themselves independently. Remind them to check where their towel, goggles, socks, shoes and clothing pieces are when packing and unpacking their swimming bag.
Another good way to practise this daily, is to ask your child to pack their school bag. Keeping track of their blue folder, reader cover and book, hat, lunchbox, library bag and library book gives them a sense of growing independence and ability to be responsible for their own belongings.
Below is an attachement of the Topics the students will be particpating in next Term.
Have a safe and relaxing Easter! We hope you have a lovely holiday. See you in Term 2!
