From the Principals

Information from Mrs Mann, Mrs Cook and Mrs Strachan

Welcome to the final newsletter for Term 1. It's been a term full of excitement and activity, and one that has gone so quickly! In the last 8 weeks we have had the following student events,

  • Year 6 Camp
  • District swimming
  • Year 3-6 Athletics
  • Cross Country
  • Harmony Day
  • Colour Run
  • Foundation Family BBQ
  • Whole school Big Play Date
  • NAPLAN
  • Kindergarten welcome picnic
  • Hawthorn Football Club visit
  • VIS Special guest visit

It's great to see so many students and families being involved in the great activities and opportunities that we are able to provide at Vermont Primary School.

Colour Run Success

A fabulous day was had by all at last week's Colour Run. A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers who came along and helped run the event, and a special acknowledgement to Mic Lowne and Alan Wong who put in a tremendous amount of time and effort to prepare the activities. Our handman, Clenton Smith also needs a special thank you! The Year 6 student leaders also played a big role in this year's Colour Run developing the activities and helping with the set up. We are so lucky to have such enthusiastic young leaders in our school!

The Colour Run is a favourite community event, and one of the most fun days of the year, but it is also a major fundraiser for our school. Fundraising closes today, and at the last check we had raised $14,611! This is a phenomenal amount of money, and will go a long way to supporting our school to purchase and furnish a Sensory Pod.

There are plenty of awesome photos on class pages, so make sure to check them out! There are also updates of school activities on the official school Instagram page, too!

End of Term 1

Just a reminder that school finishes next Friday, with a 2:30pm finish time.

We wish everyone all the best for a great break, and a happy Easter for those of you who celebrate it.

Take care,

Jess, Joy & Jacci
