Anzac Day is about thanking the people who have been fighting in the war. We read some books about Anzac Ted. Anzac Ted was a bear that was in the war and was with the man who used to have it when he was a kid. It was fun making Anzac biscuits and eating them, they were good as!
-Austin.
The 2-3-4-5-6 students had an incredible trip to Phillip Island. Thank you to our parent helpers - Tanya, John, Bec, Laurent and Gemma. We couldn't have done it without you!
We were so proud of the students' excellence:
The 2-3-4 students wrote some sentences reviewing camp, focussing on using transition phrases to add on (and, also) or change direction (but, however). Here are some extracts from their writing...
At the beach the sun was shining gloriously and the sand so soft. Also we saw a sheep getting shorn and a dog rounding up sheep. I loved the food. – Clara
At the beach, the sun was shining gloriously and the water was crystal clear. Also, it was lovely with the sand squelching between my toes. …Also we were able to milk a cow. However, there was a long queue to wait. The food we had was yum but my fork snapped when I used it. However, we watched a movie after dinner…Odd Ball. – Juni
Also the whip cracking was awesome. However, I stepped in cow poop while I was waiting to milk the cow. At the beach, the sun was shining gloriously and it was a lot of fun playing with my friends…but the seaweed was gross. – Audrey
The penguins were so cute and funny but it was long and cold and not in a good way. The cabin was loud and messy but social. At the beach, the sun was shining gloriously and it was nice and warm. Also, the water was very refreshing. – Archer
Also, the whip cracking was fun. I got scared when I saw it. It was cold but I swam in the water. – Ryder
At camp also I liked the whip cracking, cow milking and old machinery that they used to use to farm. – Jackson
The penguins were so cute and fluffy but they took so long to come out of the water. At the beach, the sun was shining and I loved swimming in the water. - Brydie
COBAW District Cross Country was held at Hanging Rock on Tuesday, with 14 year 3 to year 6 students attending. Our students were amazing, supporting and looking after each other. Congratulations to Juniper and Eddie who qualified for the Goldfields Division Cross Country to be held in Castlemaine on 16 May. Both Eddie and Juniper have been training for many, many weeks and their hard work paid off.
Thank you to Liz and Tom for driving some of our students to Hanging Rock and supporting them during the event.
The Camp fun continues
