It's been a long, busy and productive term. Our new students, families and staff across the school have had a smooth and positive start to the year. It's rewarding walking through our school and seeing happy faces and engaged students and staff. We look to continuing our work together throughout the year.
Today we say goodbye to Berenise and thank her for her work over the past 3 terms in room 18. This week we recruited new staff who are excited to start with us next term:
We look forward to have these new teachers and Education Support staff members join the Croydon SDS team.
A big thank you to Leanne Gordon for once again organising this popular raffle. It was great to have students in room 11 draw the 6 winning raffle tickets.
Congratulations to the Easter raffle winners:
Ashley W – Rm 10
Enoch K – Rm 3
Everly A -Rm 9
Reuben N -Rm 3
Shane K (Grady O) – Rm 10
Thang Thang Z - Rm 9
Enjoy your Easter Eggs!
Renovations are nearly complete to the old library, creating a new classroom in the Primary 1 building. This new space will become room 4. Room 4 who have temporarily been using the art room will move into their new classroom during the first week of term 2.
Over the break there will be a power upgrade to the school. All works at the front of the school are due to be complete and the building site office will be relocated to the rear of the new admin building. It is planned that all front entry gates, (gate 1, 2 and 3) will be re-instated to be used as the student entrances again. Further information about parent parking and start/end of day transitions will be published on Compass prior to school starting back.
Sonja Terpstra has recently opened a pet food bank at the Doncaster electorate office. This has been achieve in partnership with the RSPCA Victoria, to provide free pet food to assist families who may be struggling with the ever-increasing cost of living.
Our pets are such an important part of our families. And sadly, some families have been forced to make difficult decisions to surrender their pets when the family budget has become overly stretched.
If you are finding it difficult to feed your pets, help is available. You can drop in to Sonja Terpstra MP Doncaster electorate office during business hours 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, Office 2, 9-11 Williamson Rd, Doncaster, 3108).
Wishing you a happy and safe school break and Easter period. Please take this time to rest up and have some nice family time together.
We look forward to seeing everyone back to start term 2 on Tuesday 22 April. Please keep in mind that our first week back is short due to the public holidays, (Monday 21 April - Easter Monday and Friday 25 April - Anzac Day).
