Shaping Minds Visitor – Jordan O’Sullivan

Teachers and students have been working closely with educators from Shaping Minds to ensure the College applies leading pedagogy that aligns with The Science of Learning.

This week, several Junior School classes participated in explicit instruction lessons with Jordan O’Sullivan, a lead educator from Western Australia. The students were exceptional and showcased the outstanding routines immersed in their literacy and numeracy lessons with their class teachers.

Shaping Minds is an Australian organisation that focuses on high-impact, evidence-based teaching practices. Their goal is to connect teachers with effective teaching strategies and resources that have been validated by research. You can find more information on Shaping Minds on their website here

11/12 Learning Conferences

Families of senior students are welcomed into the College this evening to support their child/ren in their learning conferences. Students and teachers have been discussing the following focus questions to direct their learning in Term 2:

  1. What is working well?
  2. What are my current challenges?
  3. What is my SMART Goal for Term 2?

The senior students are commended for their dedication to learning evident in their ePortfolios on Connect. If families are unable to attend this evening, the College strongly encourages you to engage in conversation with your child/ren at home.

Year 7-10 Learning Conferences

The College invites Year 7-10 families to their respective Learning Conferences on Wednesday 30 April, Week 1 of Term 2. Students are encouraged to attend discussions with families and lead the conversation to improve their learning. The evening will consist of 10-minute sessions, beginning at 3.30pm.

Families will receive communication on Wednesday 9 April regarding the booking process with your children’s teachers. The feedback provided by teacher and student reflections on tasks will be paramount to these conversations. We therefore ask families to converse with their children at home and actively engage in learning feedback on Connect, the College Learning Management System.
