Sustainability

We now have some spiny leaf stick insects living at our school in the Environmental Education classroom!

Spiny leaf stick insects are experts at camoflauge. They hide on trees pretending to be a dead gum leaf. They eat leaves, and cannot bite or sting.

They have been helping students learn about animals, including adaptations and life cycles.

Students will be helping to name the four stick insects, and we will announce the names in the newsletter next term.

Student Sustainability leaders have also been helping to care for the stick insects by replenishing gum leaves and giving them water.
