If you wish to spend SSB funding on School Activities, such as excursions or camps, then you will need to do the following:
If you wish to apply Camps, Sports and Excursions Funds (CSEF) to your child's excursions or camp fees, please use the survey below to let our team know:
See the Department's policy for details to see if you are eligible for CSEF
A reminder to please check Lost Property if your child has misplaced anything. All clothing, lunchboxes, and water bottles are stored on the ground floor outside the library.
Labelled clothing often makes its way back to students, but the best way to ensure this is to check Lost Property regularly.
Any unnamed clothing items that remain unclaimed at the end of the term will be placed in the sickbay for use during accidents or donated to the Second-Hand Uniform Shop.
All unclaimed lunchbox containers or water bottles will be discarded on the last day of term due to hygiene concerns.
Please ensure all of your child's property is clearly labelled so that it can be returned to the appropriate student.
If you are intending on your child commencing Prep next year at South Melbourne Primary School, we are now accepting Enrolment Applications! We request that the Enrolment Forms and supporting documents are dropped off to Kirsty or Emma in the office as soon as possible - even if you verbally let us know now about a sibling planning on commencing Prep next year so that we may begin our planning of classes and staffing for 2026.
Enrolment forms and the process can be found on our website. If you require any further information on enrolling your child, please do not hesitate to drop into the office, call on 9935 9399 or e-mail at south.melbourne.ps@education.vic.gov.au and we will happily answer your queries.
At South Melbourne Primary School, we are proud of the rich cultural diversity within our school community. To celebrate and share this, we are wanting to create an SMPS Cultural Wall that reflects the backgrounds, traditions, and stories of our students and their families.
We warmly invite families to donate a cultural item, artwork or symbol from your country of origin that can be framed and hung on a wall. Along with your contribution, please include a short description explaining what it is and what it represents.
We will then create a Cultural Wall to show the many cultures represented at SMPS and to promote understanding, inclusion, and pride in our shared community.
If you would like to contribute, please send your item (labelled with child's name and class) to the school office.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the uniqueness of every family at SMPS!
