Principal's Message

Ms Grace Carlo-Stella

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been an exciting few weeks with students excelling at community and national level,

Celebrating STEM and Community Involvement

We are thrilled to share the great success of our students at the recent STEM MAD (Make a Difference) competition. Their innovative project and creative solutions earned high praise and we are incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and ingenuity. Mrs Mary Chetty is to be congratulated on the work she has done throughout the year to have our students receive such a high standard. I accompanied the team to Brisbane and am very proud of how the students represented our school. Congratulations to Zara, Claire, Thomas and Anthony from year six.

On 11 November 2024, Ella and Jake, our school captains, participated in the Remembrance Day Ceremony held by Merrylands RSL. Their respectful and heartfelt talks reflected the values of our school community and we thank them for representing us so well on this important occasion. A special thank you to Mrs Lyn Burton who worked with Ella and Jake on their reflection on war and remembrance.

Introducing Academic Awards

We are excited to announce the introduction of Academic Awards to celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of our students. These awards will honour excellence across each key learning area as well as encouragement awards and school spirit for students from Kindergarten to Year Six.

The awards will be presented during the week commencing 9 December 2024. Parents of students receiving awards will be advised the preceding week. We warmly invite families to join us in celebrating the hard work and dedication of our students. More details about the event will follow in the coming weeks.

Year Six will receive their academic awards following the Mass of Graduation. During the awards ceremony, the students will graduate from St Margaret Mary’s receiving a certificate of graduation, academic awards and other awards.
