It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to Mrs Ewa Ransome, a dedicated staff member who has supported hundreds of students through their Certificate II in Hospitality at Marist College Ashgrove.
Ewa's journey with MCA began in 1999 as a parent when her eldest son, Ryszard, enrolled at the school, followed by her younger son, Marek, who graduated in 2003 and 2008 respectively. This marked the beginning of a 25-year relationship with the college, during which Ewa joined the Hospitality department in Term 3, 2003.
Throughout her tenure, Ewa worked closely with Peter Howard in the early days and later with Gary Keown, who retired in 2023. Her commitment and passion for teaching have left a lasting impact on both staff and students.
Last Wednesday, we celebrated Ewa's contributions with a farewell morning tea. The event was made special by the very students she helped, who prepared and served the food. Attendees included Mr Michael Newman, Mr Charles Brauer, Ms Jen Smeed, former Head of Technology Mr Craig Robinson and Mr Gary Keown, all of whom came to honour Ewa's remarkable service.
This week, Ewa will hang up her apron for the last time in the newly renovated Cyprian Pavilion, home to our state-of-the-art commercial and training kitchen. As she moves to Europe to be closer to her sons, we extend our heartfelt wishes for her future endeavours.
Thank you, Ewa, for your unwavering dedication and the positive influence you've had on our community. You will be greatly missed.
