There are a range of Department of Education scholarships available to students currently enrolled in Year 4 to 11 in 2024 and students enrolled in Year 12 in 2024 who plan on undertaking tertiary studies in 2025. Year 9 Future Me Excursion

On Tuesday 29th October, the year 9s participated in a full day workshop at Deakin Uni Warrnambool, along with 3 other regional schools from the area. The day was the second of a three-week program where students explore the world of work and build their employability skills.

The day consisted of breaking off into school groups and doing lots of interactive activities to build and practice their communication skills. The students then all came back together, and in groups of 4 practiced their communication skills by doing some speed-interviewing of community volunteers. 

Students had 5 minutes with each volunteer, and in their groups of 4 had to lead the interview and find out about the volunteer’s career, how they started, what they wanted to do and how their work had changed over the years. 

It was a loud, busy and engaging activity that saw all students grow in confidence. Well done to all students for giving it their best, especially those that pushed them out of their comfort zone! And thanks to Mr D for driving the bus.
