Teaching and Learning

Ms Ashley Kuusela - Assistant Principal / Mrs Peta Phillips - Acting Assistant Principal

Am I alone in saying that every year feels bigger than the year before?

2024 has been another incredible year at Karoo. Our school has gone from strength to strength. Of course, this isn't be accident, but rather because we have had a wonderful leader guiding our school to greater things, fostering a culture of growth, opportunity and community. I read a quote the other day that said, 'Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.' I think I speak for many when I say, we miss you already Danielle. Thank you for taking us to greater heights. You are respected and admired far more than you can ever imagine.

As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect, and celebrate. Whether big or small, every achievement deserves recognition. Learning is not linear - there are peaks and troughs, and sometimes its the small wins that are the sweetest. It’s in these moments of reflection that we see how far we’ve come and begin setting our sights on the opportunities of the year ahead.

Semester reports will be available on Compass from Wednesday. Year Six students will also receive a hard copy of their final report—a keepsake marking the culmination of their primary school journey.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers for their ongoing efforts with both assessment and reporting. Semester reports reflect not only the academic progress of our students but also the courage and curiosity with which students have embraced extra curricular activities, challenges and new ideas this year.

As we prepare for the holidays, we encourage everyone to cherish time with loved ones, recharge, and step into the new year with optimism and purpose.

Wishing you a joyful and peaceful Christmas,

Ms Ashley Kuusela
