Assistant Principal Report

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the newly appointed Assistant Principal of Highvale Primary School. My name is Kelly Soccio, and it is an absolute privilege to join this warm and welcoming community. 

In my short time here, I have already enjoyed meeting many of you and getting to know the wonderful students as I make my way around the school each day. It’s been inspiring to see the enthusiasm and positivity of the students and families who make Highvale such a special place. 

I bring with me 18 years of teaching experience across various year levels, which has given me a broad perspective on education and the unique learning needs of students at different stages of their journey. During my career, I have also worked part-time as a Science Specialist and an Intervention Teacher while raising my own children. These roles allowed me to pursue my passion for fostering curiosity, innovation and a love of learning. 

At home, I’m a proud mum of three children who keep me on my toes! In my spare time (when I’m not running around after them), I love spending time with my family. We enjoy going on long walks or bike rides together. I also enjoy socialising with friends, cooking, and finding a cozy spot to unwind with a good book. 

Each day I come to work, I’m reminded why I love this profession so much. It’s the wonderful relationships we form, the fun we have and the incredible things we learn and achieve together that make it so worthwhile. I look forward to continuing to build strong connections with all of you and working together to create the best possible learning environment for our students.
