Library News

The Louise Humann Library is thrilled to welcome Jo Keating as the new Library and Information Services Leader on Monday 25 November. Jo brings with her a passion for student engagement in ongoing learning along with developing and supporting student voice. We are excited to have Jo join the library team and look forward to working together to support positive outcomes for the students and supporting teaching staff with information and resources.

This term the library worked closely with the Science Department with curating learning guides and content for the Year 7 Snakes in Australia task and Year 8 Extinction of Dinosaurs task, that students can access through the Library Resource Page digital platform LearnPath. With the inclusion of Jo in the team, we are eager to expand our work with curriculum areas to further develop interesting and informative content for classes for the coming year.

The students have been very excited to see the progress of the Christmas decorations in the library this month. Our creative extraordinaire library assistant Erin has delighted visitors with the results of her hard work. Please enjoy some of the recent colourful displays that have brighten the library space.

Return Library Books

This is a call out to please return library books that are overdue, or students are no longer reading. We do a stock take in December, so will appreciate books not being read to be returned.

Reminder emails are sent out regularly to students and parents, so please be proactive and look for the books and return them before a replacement invoice is organised.

Students are to come to the library if they feel they have returned a book and have received an overdue email.

Keep Calm and Keep Reading

We encourage students to continue reading during the holidays, for enjoyment, de-stress and to build their literacy levels.

If you would like some reading over the holidays, please pop in to borrow or renew books.

The College has some great reading and audible options available for students on their laptops.
