Purchases for 2025

As families make purchases for the 2025 school year, please consider the following:

LAPTOPS

All new enrolments to the college are required to bring a laptop (NOT a tablet or iPad). If you're considering purchasing a new device for a student, please purchase a laptop. More info can be found on the BYOD page of the website

SCHOOL SHOES

Students must wear traditional, black, leather (or leather-look) lace-up school shoes. Black leather sneakers are NOT permitted. We recommend Ascent shoes (Adiva, Apex or Scholar styles). These shoes are endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association, and chosen by many students who prefer a school shoe that feels like a sneaker.

Don't forget to nominate how you will spend the $400 School Saving Bonus. We know there have been issues with the online portal, but encourage parents/carers to try again in the new year before purchasing books and uniform.

Research Survey - cost to play sport

The Australian Sports Commission is working with researchers from Federation University to understand the cost for local clubs to deliver community sport, and the costs for participants to play sport.

Students and parent/carers from Maribyrnong College have been invvited to participate in a short online survey to understand the total costs for you to participate in sport. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Chance to win 1 of 5 $100 vouchers!

The results of this project will be used to make recommendations to the Australian Sports Commission to inform their sport policies and strategies to minimise the cost to play sport.

If you have any questions about this survey please contact the leader of the research team at Federation University Professor Rochelle Eime r.eime@federation.edu.au or phone (03) 5327 9687. Ethics reference number 2024/179.
